Church announcements for Sunday February 16th, 2014
1.Northeast American Diocese has decided to honor all members of our Diocese, who are seventy years and older, in appreciation of their contributions to the growth of our Diocese. All members of our church who are seventy and up are requested to give your names to the Secretary today so that they can be honored appropriately.
2.Church newsletter for the last quarter of 2013 is ready for distribution. Thanks to Terry and Elizabeth Kurien for their hard work as newsletter editors.
3.In observance of the three day lent, we had Holy Qurbana last Wednesday. Most of our members attended the service. It was a great blessing
4.Divyabodhanam and leadership classes for 2014 started on Feb 15 at St.Johns Orthodox church, Orangeburg . Some of our Marth Mariam Samajam members attended the classes.
5.Sunday School day was celebrated last Sunday after the Holy Qurbana All students from KG to Grade 12 performed variety of programs which was very well appreciated. Thanks to the Principal, all teachers and parents for their leadership and support.
6.Sunday School mid term examination will be held on March 2nd, 2014. All students are requested to prepare for the exam.
7.Prayer meeting for the month of February will be conducted on Saturday, February 22nd 6.00 pm at the residence of Mr.Abraham Pothen (Sajan). Because of the excessively snow covered streets, please try to carpool.
8.We will be remembering all the faithful departed next Sunday (February 23). Please write the names of all your departed faithful in the list kept at the Church Office.
9. Next week’s Old Testament Reading will be done by Reba Mathews.
10. Church directory is ready for publishing. If you have any additions/updates or exclusions, please let the Secretary or office bearers know.
